If you need to take a mailbox offline temporarily — for example, if you're rotating email accounts, troubleshooting a connection issue, or pausing outreach from a specific address — you can disconnect it. Disconnecting is non-destructive: the mailbox record and its campaign associations are preserved, and you can reconnect at any time.
This is different from removing a mailbox, which permanently deletes all associated data and cannot be undone.
How to disconnect a mailbox
Go to Mailboxes in the left sidebar.
Find the mailbox you want to disconnect.
Click the actions menu (⋮) on the right side of the mailbox row.
Click Disconnect mailbox.
A confirmation dialog will appear. Click Disconnect to confirm.
The mailbox will be set to inactive. You'll see a confirmation toast: "[email] has been disconnected. You can reconnect it anytime."
What happens when you disconnect a mailbox
Active campaigns using this mailbox will be paused. Any campaigns that were sending through this address stop sending immediately.
Your mailbox record and campaign associations are preserved. Nothing is deleted — the mailbox history and its links to campaigns remain intact.
You can reconnect later. When you're ready to resume, reconnect the mailbox via the usual OAuth flow and your campaigns can be restarted.
Disconnect vs. Remove — what's the difference?
Disconnect — sets the mailbox to inactive, pauses associated campaigns, preserves all data. Reversible.
Remove connection — permanently deletes the mailbox and all associated data. Cannot be undone.
Use Disconnect when you want a temporary pause. Use Remove only if you're sure you no longer need the mailbox or its history.
The Disconnect option is only visible for active mailboxes
The Disconnect mailbox option only appears in the actions menu for mailboxes that are currently active. If a mailbox is already inactive or has been deactivated automatically (for example, due to an authentication error), you won't see this option — instead, use the Reconnect option to reactivate it.
