Campaign Settings: Allowed Values and How to Edit a Running Campaign

What values are valid for campaign settings, and how to pause a running campaign to make changes.

Written by Alexander Shartsis

Skyp enforces specific rules and ranges for campaign settings. Understanding these helps you configure campaigns correctly and avoid errors when editing.

Allowed Settings Ranges

When creating or updating a campaign, the following constraints apply:

  • Touches: 1–7 (the number of messages in the sequence)

  • Max words per email: 30–150

  • Closing style: must be soft, mix, or hard

  • Sending days: at least one day must be selected

  • Sending times: at least one hour must be selected

If you save a value outside these ranges, you'll see a clear error message specifying what needs to change.

Editing a Campaign That's Already Running

Once a campaign is active or evergreen, some settings are locked to protect contacts who are mid-sequence. To make changes, you need to pause the campaign first:

  1. Click the actions menu (⋮) next to your campaign and select Pause campaign.

  2. Make your edits and save.

  3. Select Resume campaign from the same menu when you're ready to restart.

If you attempt to save changes while a campaign is running, you'll see a message prompting you to pause it first. No messages are lost — the campaign picks up where it left off when you resume.

Contacts Required Before Launch

For standard (non-evergreen) campaigns, you must add at least one contact before the campaign can be finalized and launched. If you try to launch without contacts, Skyp will ask you to add contacts first.

Evergreen campaigns do not have this requirement — they are designed to receive contacts on an ongoing basis after launch.
