What this setting does
When you set up a campaign, the Review step in Campaigns includes a Tracking section where you can choose whether Skyp tracks link clicks and email opens. If you have click tracking enabled, you'll see an additional toggle:
Enhance deliverability by omitting tracking in the first message
When this toggle is on (the default), the very first email Skyp sends to each contact in the sequence will not include click-tracking links. It also skips the open-tracking pixel on that first message unless your sending domain has its own dedicated tracking subdomain (e.g. t.your-domain.com). All follow-up emails in the sequence continue to track opens and clicks normally.
Why this improves deliverability
Email providers like Gmail and Outlook use the first email they receive from a new sender to decide how trustworthy that sender is. Tracking links — which redirect through a tracking domain before reaching their destination — can look suspicious to spam filters on that critical first impression. A tiny remote image (the open pixel) served from a shared tracking host is another well-known spam-filter signal on cold outreach.
By sending the first email with plain, unmodified links, and skipping the open pixel unless the pixel is served from a subdomain of your own sending domain, Skyp gives your message the best chance of landing in the inbox rather than the spam folder. Once your sender reputation is established with a contact, the tracking links and pixel in follow-up emails are much less likely to trigger filters.
Where to find the toggle
Open or create a campaign in Campaigns and navigate to the Review step.
Scroll to the Tracking section.
Make sure Track when links are clicked is turned on — the deliverability toggle only appears when click tracking is enabled.
The Enhance deliverability by omitting tracking in the first message toggle will be visible beneath the click tracking option. It is on by default.
What you give up
When the toggle is on, you won't see click data for the very first email in each sequence. If a contact clicks a link in your opening email, that click will not appear in Clicks.
You may also lose open data for the first email: opens are only tracked on the first message if your sending domain has an aligned tracking subdomain provisioned (Skyp-managed domains and custom domains with a t. CNAME both qualify). Otherwise the pixel is skipped on the first email to protect deliverability, and open tracking resumes from the second email onwards.
If complete tracking on every email is more important to you than the deliverability benefit, simply turn the toggle off.
Quick reference
Toggle on (default): First email uses plain links; the open pixel is included only if your sending domain has its own tracking subdomain. Tracking resumes fully from the second email. Best for inbox placement.
Toggle off: All emails, including the first, include both open and click tracking. Full tracking data from the start.
