Managing Unsubscribes and Opt-Out Lines in Campaigns

How Skyp handles unsubscribes and how to control the opt-out line appended to your campaign emails.

Written by Alexander Shartsis

Overview

Skyp gives you control over how recipients can opt out of your campaign emails — and automatically handles compliance in the background so your sending reputation stays healthy.

There are two related features covered here:

  • Include opt-out line — a toggle in campaign settings that appends a short opt-out prompt to every email.

  • One-click unsubscribe — an automatic standard that lets recipients unsubscribe directly from their email client, with Skyp suppressing them from future sends.

Include opt-out line

When this setting is turned on, every email Skyp sends for that campaign will end with:

"Not relevant? Reply 'no' and I won't follow up."

This gives recipients a clear and polite way to signal they're not interested. Skyp will automatically stop sending follow-ups to anyone who replies with "no".

The toggle is on by default for all campaigns. You can turn it off if your emails already include a custom opt-out message, or if the line feels out of place for a particular campaign.

How to turn the opt-out line on or off

  1. Open your campaign and navigate to the Review & Schedule step.

  2. Scroll down to the Sending Behavior section.

  3. Find the Include opt-out line toggle and switch it on or off.

The label below the toggle will confirm what your emails will include (or exclude). The change takes effect immediately and applies to future sends for that campaign.

One-click unsubscribe (automatic)

All campaign emails sent by Skyp now automatically include List-Unsubscribe headers (per RFC 8058). This means:

  • Recipients can unsubscribe with a single click using the unsubscribe button in their email client (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, and others).

  • Anyone who unsubscribes this way is automatically added to your suppression list — they will not receive future campaign emails from your account.

  • Your sending reputation improves, because email providers like Google and Yahoo treat senders who support one-click unsubscribe more favorably.

This is applied automatically to all campaigns. There is nothing to configure.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see who has unsubscribed?
Contacts who unsubscribe via one-click are suppressed from future sends. Check your contacts list and filter by suppression status to find them.

What happens if I turn off the opt-out line?
The "Not relevant? Reply 'no'" text will not be added to emails for that campaign. The one-click unsubscribe header in the email itself is always present regardless of this setting.

Does one-click unsubscribe affect all my campaigns?
Yes — it is applied automatically to every campaign email Skyp sends, on all mailboxes.
