How Skyp Handles LinkedIn Replies

How Skyp automatically detects when a LinkedIn lead replies to your message, updates their campaign status, and stops further follow-ups by default.

Written by Alexander Shartsis

When a lead replies to one of your LinkedIn messages, Skyp automatically detects the reply and updates the lead's status in your campaign dashboard — no manual checking required.

Automatic reply detection

Skyp listens for inbound LinkedIn messages via your connected account. When a lead you've messaged sends you a reply on LinkedIn, Skyp receives a real-time notification and marks that lead as Replied in your campaign. The dashboard updates automatically.

What happens after a reply

By default, once a lead replies, Skyp stops sending them further follow-up messages in that campaign. This prevents your automation from continuing to reach out to someone who has already engaged with you.

This behavior is controlled by the Stop sending after reply setting on each LinkedIn campaign, which is on by default. Advanced users can adjust this setting when creating or updating a LinkedIn campaign via the Skyp MCP tools or API.

Viewing replied leads

To see which leads have replied in a campaign:

  1. Go to LinkedIn Campaigns in the Skyp sidebar.

  2. Find the campaign you want to review.

  3. Click the green Replied count in the campaign row.

  4. A panel slides open on the right showing all leads who have replied, including their name, LinkedIn profile link, and when they replied.

Reply notifications

Skyp can notify you by email when a lead replies on LinkedIn, so you can follow up at the right time. See Getting notified when a contact replies in Skyp for details on managing notification preferences.
