Creating a LinkedIn Campaign in Skyp

How to use Skyp's multi-step campaign wizard to create a LinkedIn outreach campaign — from naming your campaign and adding leads to reviewing the AI-generated strategy and activating.

Written by Alexander Shartsis

Skyp's LinkedIn campaign wizard guides you through creating a new LinkedIn outreach campaign in five steps — from naming your campaign to reviewing the AI-generated strategy and going live.

Opening the campaign wizard

Go to LinkedIn Campaigns in the Skyp sidebar. Click the Create Campaign button at the top right of the page.

Note: If you haven't connected your LinkedIn account yet, the button will say Connect LinkedIn instead. You'll need to complete that step before creating a campaign — see How to Connect Your LinkedIn Account to Skyp.

Step 1: Campaign details

Give your campaign a name and describe what you'd like to achieve. Skyp's AI uses this context to write a relevant outreach strategy and personalise messages for each of your leads.

  • Campaign name — A label for your own reference (e.g. "Q3 SaaS founders outreach").

  • Goal or context — Describe the purpose of the outreach, the product or service you're promoting, and any key points to highlight. The more detail you provide, the better the AI-generated messages will be.

Click Next to save and continue.

Step 2: Add leads

The Add Leads step shows all the LinkedIn leads across your Skyp account. Each lead is listed with their name, headline, and badges showing which campaigns they already belong to.

To include a lead in this campaign, tick the checkbox next to their name. Leads that already belong to another campaign show a badge with that campaign's name — you can still select them for this campaign.

To add a lead not yet in your account, click Add Lead and enter their LinkedIn profile URL (e.g. https://www.linkedin.com/in/example-name/). To add several at once, click Paste URLs and enter one URL per line.

Skyp automatically enriches each lead's profile in the background — filling in any missing name, headline, or company information using your connected LinkedIn account. No action is needed from you.

Click Next to save your selection and continue.

Step 3: Campaign settings

Configure your sending schedule, rate limits, and outreach sequence.

Sending schedule & limits

  • Timezone & Sending hours — Your sending timezone and daily start/end hours appear on the same row. Click the timezone label to open the timezone picker and change it.

  • Sending days — Select which days of the week (Mon–Sun) Skyp should send invites and messages.

  • Invites per Hour — How many connection invites Skyp sends per hour during your sending window. Lower values spread activity more naturally across the day.

  • Weekly invite limit — The maximum number of connection invites per week. Staying within LinkedIn's recommended limits reduces the risk of account restrictions.

  • Daily message limit — The maximum number of follow-up messages to send per day to connected leads.

Outreach sequence

The Outreach Sequence section displays your campaign flow as three connected stages:

  1. Connection Request — Always the first step. Skyp sends a personalised connection invite to each lead. This step is fixed and cannot be removed.

  2. Delay (hours) — How long to wait after a lead accepts your invite before sending the first follow-up message. Enter a value between 0 and 168 hours.

  3. Follow-up Messages — Use the slider to choose between 0 and 6 follow-up messages. Set to 0 for a connection-request-only campaign (no follow-ups after acceptance).

The total sequence length is applied when Skyp generates your outreach strategy in the next step. If you change the follow-up count after a strategy has already been generated, the strategy step will show a warning prompting you to regenerate.

Step 4: Outreach strategy

Skyp automatically generates a multi-step outreach sequence for your campaign based on the sequence length you set in Step 3 — typically a connection request followed by the number of follow-up messages you configured, each tailored to your campaign goal.

On this screen you can:

  • Review each step — See the message type (connection request or follow-up) and the delay before it sends.

  • Regenerate — Click Regenerate to have Skyp's AI create a fresh strategy. If you changed the sequence length in Step 3 after a strategy was already generated, a warning banner will appear — click Regenerate to create a new strategy that matches your updated step count.

  • Add or edit a template — Click the menu on any step and choose Add Template or Edit Template. Templates give the AI a fixed structure or wording to follow when writing messages for that step. Connection request templates are limited to 300 characters. For follow-up steps, a template acts as a guide that the AI personalises for each lead. Your template edits are saved when you click Next.

For more detail on how Skyp personalises each message, see How Skyp Personalizes LinkedIn Messages per Lead.

Step 5: Review & activate

A summary of all your campaign settings is shown — leads count, sending schedule, limits, and strategy steps. Review everything, then click Activate Campaign to go live.

Once activated, Skyp will begin sending connection invites to your leads according to your schedule. You can track progress any time on the LinkedIn Campaigns dashboard.

What happens after activation

  • Connection invites go out on your configured schedule.

  • When a lead accepts your invite, Skyp waits the configured follow-up delay, then sends the first follow-up message.

  • If a lead replies at any point, Skyp stops sending further follow-ups to that lead and you'll receive a notification email.

  • When all leads have been fully processed, the campaign automatically moves to Completed status and you'll receive a completion email.

See Tracking and Managing Your LinkedIn Campaigns in Skyp for details on monitoring progress once a campaign is running.
